What adrodub is
adrodub is a Chrome extension made by Adro Lab, Inc., a company incorporated in the United States. It captures the audio of a browser tab you choose and speaks a machine translation of it out loud, using a Google Gemini API key that you supply. By installing or using it, you agree to these terms.
Free to use, and provided as is
adrodub is free to use. You get one minute of dubbing to try it without signing up and ten minutes once you do, both running on our own Google account. Beyond that, add your own free Google Gemini key and dubbing is unlimited at no cost, for as long as adrodub exists. The optional Pro plan is described below.
We give no warranty that adrodub will be accurate, available, or fit for any particular purpose. Machine translation makes mistakes, sometimes serious ones.
Do not rely on it where accuracy matters
adrodub is for personal understanding. Do not use it as a substitute for a qualified human interpreter in medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or official settings. We are not liable for any decision made on the basis of a translation it produced.
Your Google key is your responsibility
You bring your own Google Gemini API key. Your use of Google's service is governed by Google's terms, and any charges Google applies to your key are between you and Google. Keep your key private. If it is stolen from your machine, that is outside our control.
Copyright and consent
You are responsible for having the right to listen to and translate whatever you dub. adrodub does not record or save what it translates, but some content and some meetings may not lawfully be passed through a translation service, and in some places you must tell the other people first. That is your decision and your responsibility.
Fair use of the service
- Do not use adrodub to break the law or anyone's rights.
- Do not resell it, or present it as your own product.
- Do not try to bypass the free limits or the paid plan, and do not share one account between several people. A Pro plan is for one person, and we can end a plan that is being shared.
- Do not attempt to disrupt our servers.
adrodub Pro, billing and cancellation
There are two paid plans, both priced in US dollars and both charged every month, or every year if you choose that, until you cancel:
- adrodub Pro, $9.90 a month or $99 a year. 180 minutes of dubbing a month on our own Google account.
- adrodub Pro Plus, $17.90 a month or $179 a year. 360 minutes of dubbing a month on our own Google account.
Neither needs a Google key of your own. The minutes reset at the start of each billing month and unused minutes do not carry over. If you use them all before the month ends, dubbing keeps working for free on your own Google key.
Credit top-ups
You can also buy dubbing time outright, without any plan, currently 90 minutes for $6, 300 minutes for $16 and 720 minutes for $35. These are single payments; there is nothing to cancel and nothing renews.
Bought credit does not expire. If you also have a plan, your monthly plan minutes are always used first, because those expire at the end of the month and your credit does not. Credit is not transferable between accounts and, once used, is not refundable in cash.
Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the merchant of record and is the seller shown on your statement. Paddle collects any sales tax or VAT due in your country and sends your receipt.
You can cancel at any time, from the link in any receipt email from Paddle or by writing to us. Cancelling stops the next charge; your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not cut short.
Refunds
If a plan or a top-up is not what you expected, write to our contact form within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it in full. You do not need to give a reason. Refunds are returned to the card that was charged, usually within five to ten business days depending on your bank.
For a credit top-up, a full refund is available while the credit is unused. If you have used part of it, we refund the part you have not used.
After 14 days we do not refund a period that has already been billed, but you can cancel at any time so that you are not charged again. If a paid feature was unusable because of a fault on our side, tell us and we will refund it whenever it happened.
Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Adro Lab, Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data, or costs charged to you by Google. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us for adrodub, which for the free version is nothing.
Ending it
You can stop at any time by removing the extension. We may suspend access if these terms are broken, and we may discontinue adrodub at any time.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and any dispute will be resolved in the state and federal courts of Delaware.
