Privacy Policy
The short version
- We store your name and email from signup. That is the only thing we hold about you.
- We never receive the audio you dub. It goes from your browser straight to Google.
- Your Google API key is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us.
- Transcripts stay in your browser's memory and are only written to a file if you press Save.
- We do not sell your data, and we run no advertising or tracking.
Who we are
ADRODUB is made by ADROLAB Inc., an applied AI company incorporated in the United States. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean ADROLAB, and "the extension" means the ADRODUB Chrome extension.
What we collect, and what we do not
The table below covers everything the extension handles. Where it says "stays on your device", the data is written to your browser's own storage and is never transmitted to us.
| Data | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name and email | Sent to us and stored on our server | To create your account, and to send you product updates about ADRODUB |
| Extension version and signup date | Sent to us with your signup | To know which version people are on when they report a problem |
| Google Gemini API key | Stays on your device | To let your browser talk to Google directly. We never see it |
| Tab audio | Sent from your browser to Google, never to us | To produce the spoken translation |
| Transcript of a session | Held in your browser's memory only | To power recap, questions and the transcript file. Cleared when you start a new session or close the browser. Written to disk only when you press Save |
| Your settings (language, voices, volume) | Stays on your device | So you do not set them up again each time |
| Activation key | Nowhere, for now | Paid features are not on sale yet, so no key is issued or checked. This row will change when they are |
We do not collect your browsing history, the addresses of the pages you dub, your location, or any advertising identifier. The extension contains no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party advertising code.
Where your audio actually goes
This is the part people care about most, so we will be exact. When you press start, the extension captures the sound of the tab you chose and opens a direct connection from your browser to Google's Gemini API, authenticated with the key you provided. The audio travels from your computer to Google. The translated voice comes back the same way. No ADROLAB server sits anywhere in that path, and we could not store your audio even if we wanted to, because it never reaches us.
This means Google's handling of that audio is governed by Google's own terms, not ours. Please read the Google Privacy Policy and the Gemini API Terms. Note in particular that on Google's free tier, Google may use submitted content to improve its products. If that matters to you, use a paid Google key, where Google states it does not use your content for training.
Browser permissions we ask for
- tabCapture, to record the sound of the tab you press start on. Only that tab, only while dubbing.
- offscreen, to run the audio engine in a hidden page so dubbing keeps going when the panel is closed.
- storage, to keep your key and settings on your own device.
- activeTab, to know which tab you pressed start on.
- downloads, used only when you press Save to write a transcript file.
The extension does not read the content of web pages, and does not have permission to do so.
How long we keep things
Signup records are kept until you ask us to delete them, or until ADRODUB is discontinued. Activation records are kept for as long as the key is active plus twelve months. Anything stored on your device stays there until you remove the extension or clear its data, and removing the extension deletes your key and settings from your machine.
Who else sees your data
Signup records are stored with Supabase, who host our database in the European Union. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose data if we are legally required to.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to privacy@adrolab.ai from the address you signed up with and we will action it within 30 days. You can stop all data collection at any time by removing the extension.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or similar laws. We honour these requests regardless of where you are.
Children
ADRODUB is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, tell us and we will delete the record.
Limited use
Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use ADRODUB's data only to provide and improve ADRODUB, never for advertising, and never sold to third parties.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
